Global Power Technologies Group Signs Distribution deal with Digi-Key
Global Power Technologies Group (GPTG), a SiC semiconductor manufacturer for the commercial power market, has announced an exclusive global agreement with US distributor Digi-Key.
Digi-Key, based in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, has become popular online for electronic component purchases. As part of the agreement, GPTG's product line will be extended to Digi-Key's global customer base of 550,000 design engineers.
"We're proud to announce an exclusive partnership with Digi-Key as part of our global growth strategy to reach a broader set of customers," said Michael DiGangi director of business development at Global Power Technologies Group. "Increasing demand for our low cost semiconductors has influenced our decision to align with a highly respected global distributor. Having proven their success with design engineers around the world, Digi-Key is a great fit for our product line."
GPTG produces 100mm and 150mm epi-wafers, SiC discrete diodes, SiC discrete mosfets, SiC modules and sub-systems for multiple market sectors.
GPTG is a vertically integrated company and, under this structure, it says it expects SiC product costs to reach silicon price points in the near future.
