Varta to show printed batteries at LOPEC 2023
CTO Rainer Hald will talk about innovations in the field of printed batteries in keynote
Varta will present its product portfolio at the LOPEC 2023 trade fair for printed electronics in Munich, March 1st -2nd 2023. A special focus this year is on an innovation project in the field of printed batteries, which will provide the necessary energy in numerous future applications.
Printed electronics is one of the key technologies of the 21st century and offers interesting prospects for the future of battery technology. Varta started R&D of products in this field early on, producing thin printed batteries characterised by a high pulse load capacity.Target markets are in emerging areas such as Smart Living, Smart Medicals, Smart Sports or in Logistics 4.0.
"Printed batteries will play an important role in the future, especially in the Internet-of-Things sector and its applications. Sustainability and security aspects that are solved or improved by this are the focus. This applies, for example, to smart labels, which can only collect important data from goods in transit by using a printed battery and can communicate via LTE. This saves time and money. The area of application for these labels ranges from freight transport and air freight to global shipping," says Rainer Hald, CTO Varta AG.
In his keynote, Rainer Hald will talk about the innovations in the field of printed batteries and give an overview of the applications that can benefit. The presentation will take place on Thursday, 2nd March 2023 at 10:15 am., at Messe München, International Congress Centre.
In addition to Printed Batteries, Varta will show rechargeable nickel metal hydride button cells, primary silver oxide cells, primary lithium button cells, cylindrical lithium batteries to hydrogen gas generation cells and primary Varta Alkaline IndustrialPRO batteries.
