TMD Features Ultra-High Power TWT Amplifiers for EMC HIRF Testing

News

TMD Technologies Limited (TMD) will be exhibiting a wide range of travelling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) applications at EMV 2015.

Highlighting TMD's impressive capability in the EMC field, the products on show will offer power outputs extending up to 40 kW for certain pulsed models, covering the frequency range from DC to 40 GHz using suites of both TWT based and solid state amplifiers.

TMD will be showing its PTC and PTCS Series ultra-high power TWT and solid state amplifiers at EMV 2015.

 Extended PTC Series Range

TMD has now further extended its PTC Series ultra-high power pulsed TWT amplifiers, optimised for use in high intensity radiated fields (HIRF) EMC testing. Using the PTC Series instrumentation amplifiers, EMC test laboratories have generated 14,000 V/m (measured in an anechoic chamber), easily complying with the latest, most demanding RTCA/DO-160 G and L test requirements. Other standards covered include: MIL Standard, EUROCAE and AIRBUS ABD 100.

TMD also offers a full range of solid state amplifiers. Designated the PTCS Series, these amplifiers have been developed for use at frequencies below 6 GHz.

Full Turnkey EMC Systems "¦

TMD is a world leader in design innovation in the EMC field. "Our compact, lightweight rack mounted units benefit from being based on the company's proven, rugged radar amplifiers, sharing the same switched mode power supply technology," said TMD's Technical Sales Representative, Imad Gharib. "We work closely with antenna specialists and anechoic chamber manufacturers to provide full turnkey EMC testing systems."

"¦ and Other Applications

In addition to EMC applications, TMD's units can be used for passive intermodulation (PIM) testing, scientific research, telecommunications, EW simulation, and also in the medical field.

As well as supplying off the shelf models, TMD can customise units to customers' own specifications
