TESVOLT opts for Porsche battery expert

On 1 October 2017, Dr Victor Schäfer will take up his post as Vice President - Research & Development at the battery storage system manufacturer TESVOLT. In the newly created role, Schäfer, who previously spent five years in the automotive industry, will opVictor Schäfer comes from Porsche, where he completed a doctorate in energy management for lithium-ion storage systems and was in charge of the development of electric mobility as well as business quality in the field of electrics and electronics for five years. At TESVOLT, he will continue to dedicate himself to product development and quality assurance. "We are delighted that we were able to convince an outstanding expert like Victor Schäfer, with experience in the automotive industry, to work on the development of our range of products," says Daniel Hannemann, Managing Director of TESVOLT.

Both electric vehicles and stationary battery storage systems place high demands on their lithium-ion cells, explains Victor Schäfer: "In both applications, storage systems must be capable of providing a very high quantity of energy and power within an extremely short space of time, while at the same time guaranteeing the utmost reliability. So I will now be able to apply my experience from the automotive industry at TESVOLT and drive forward the development of innovations there." Future of battery storage systems In Schäfer's view, the future of battery storage systems lies in the uncompromising focus on customer benefit:

This technology optimizes the SoC of each individual cell and guarantees TESVOLT's lithium storage systems a service life of up to 30 years.
