BayWa r.e. sells 8.2 MW wind farm in France to Omnes Capital

BayWa r.e. has successfully sold the Saint-Congard wind farm in Brittany, north-west of Nantes, to the FPCI Capenergie 3 fund managed by Omnes Capital. This is the first time that BayWa r.e. has sold a French wind farm to a French investor.

The wind farm consists of four turbines manufactured by Senvion with an output of 8.2 MW. It has been operated by BayWa r.e. since coming online in 2014. As the Munich based full service provider is already familiar with the plant, it will continue to provide technical and commercial operations management. In total, BayWa r.e. has successfully brought four wind farms to completion in France, with an overall output of 50 MW. The company currently manages the technical and commercial operations for wind and solar farms on the French market totalling 200 MW.

"France remains a core market for BayWa r.e., where we will continue to invest in renewables in the long term. As well as implementing further wind projects, we will also intensify our business activities in the solar sector," commented Matthias Taft, Board Member of BayWa AG, responsible for the energy business. \"With this in mind, we feel the cornerstone for future cooperation has been laid with the current sale to Omnes Capital."

"We are very pleased to have concluded the acquisition of the Saint-Congard wind farm", says Serge Savasta, Managing Partner at Omnes Capital and Head of Renewable Energy. "We have been a cornerstone investor in French renewable assets for 10 years now and this transaction is perfectly in line with FPCI Capenergie 3's strategy of consolidating individual assets into larger portfolios. It also marks the beginning of a new partnership with BayWa r.e. that we are confident will lead to other opportunities in the future."
