Infineon extends PQFN OptiMOS MOSFETs
Ultra-small PQFN 2x2 mm2 chips target SMPS and speed controllers for brushless motors
Infineon has expanded its ultra-small PQFN 2x2 mm2 portfolio with new OptiMOS power MOSFETs.
The new MOSFETs are suitable for synchronous rectification in switched mode power supplies (SMPS) for servers, telecom, and portable- and wireless chargers. Additional applications include electric speed controllers for small brushless motors in drones.
Infineon says the devices offer ultra-low switching and reduced conduction losses to ensure optimal energy efficiency and power density, while simplifying thermal management. In addition, the MOSFETs require less need for paralleling, significantly reducing space and system cost.
The OptiMOS 6 power MOSFET 40V (ISK057N04LM6) has 5.7 mΩ R DS(on) and the OptiMOS 5 power MOSFETs 25V (ISK024NE2LM5) and 30V (ISK036N03LM5) have 2.4 mΩ and 3.6 mΩ R DS(on), respectively. Thermal resistance is 3.2 K/W.
