Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) is developing an ultra-fast response current sensing technology, which it will demonstrate for the first time from 9-11 May 2023 at PCIM Europe, in Nuremberg, Germany.
According to AKM, the technology substantially increases the switching frequency of power supplies, such as AC-DC and DC-DC converters, contributing to their overall size reduction.
It is particularly well suited for high frequency control in applications using SiC or GaN switching devices, as well as for the overcurrent protection of electrical systems.
At PCIM, the company will demonstrate the new technology to show ultra-fast measurement of a triangular current wave.
AKM plans to use the technology in automotive applications, such as on-board chargers and DC-DC converters.
