GaN-on-SiC epiwafer specialist selected for second year running on Ny Teknik (New Technology) '33 List'

SweGaN AB, manufacturer of custom-made GaN-on-SiC epitaxial wafers for components and devices for telecom, satellite, defence and power electronics, announced today the company has been named for the 2nd year in a row to the prestigious Ny Teknik (New Technology) '33 List' of Sweden's most promising and innovative young companies. This year's contenders included 270 companies.

With headquarters based in Linköping Sweden's renowned technology hub, SweGaN manufactures GaN-on-SiC wafers called QuanFINE using a novel patented growth technology.

Earlier this year, the Swedish tech start-up reported exceptional results for 2019 with 300 percent year-on-year growth from 2018, with a doubling of commercial orders and collaboration in multiple EU projects.

“We are extremely excited to be named to NY Teknik's 33 List again this year,” says Olof Kordina, CEO of SweGaN.

“Our customer base includes nearly all major players in the world. SweGaN's epiwafers are used by foundries, otherwise called semiconductor fabrication plants, where Power bars and MMIC's - monolithic microwave integrated circuits - are produced from the QuanFINE wafers.””
