SFC Energy: Dutch subsidiary receives power electronics development order for aviation applications
SFC Energy, a provider of hybrid power solutions to the stationary and mobile power generation markets, has announced the receipt of a design order of their Dutch subsidiary PBF Group B.V. for the development of a power supply to be used in commercial aircrafts. The development order amounts to EUR 135,000, after production qualification PBF expects annual revenues of up to EUR 1 million for the power supplies from 2017 onwards.
In the framework of the agreement PBF will design exclusive, customized power supply solutions for galley systems operated on board of commercial airplanes. Galley systems are used to store, prepare and serve food and beverages on board. The power supply solutions will ensure safe, reliable and highly efficient in-flight operation of the devices.
"We have an excellent track record in the design and production of innovative power supply solutions for demanding, mission-critical applications. E.g. in submarines or fighter planes", says Hans Pol, CSO of SFC Energy. "This expertise combined with our proven high tech expertise in the design of high end power supplies for very sensitive applications helped us to win this important design order. With our fast, efficient production capacities in Europe we are well positioned for developing our design project into a long term design production partnership."
