Active-Semi Recruits Industry Veterans from TI, Enpirion and USVP to Drive Growth
Texas based Active-Semi International, a rapidly emerging player in the power management IC and intelligent digital motor drive IC markets, has announced the addition of three executives to its leadership team.
In 2012, the company diversified its analog IC portfolio by pioneering PAC (Power Application Controller), a significant new category of 32-bit ARM Cortex M0 optimized processors. Earlier this year, LG Electronics announced their strategic investment and adoption of Active-Semi's Power Application Controller, initially targeted for their energy efficient home appliances.
Active-Semi's product portfolio has broad design win engagements across portable power (smart phones, tablets and smart watches), HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), Smart Home Appliances & Automation, Lighting Systems and a diverse range of Industrial & Embedded Control (surveillance cameras, stepper motors, gateways, point-of-sale terminals, human machine interface, industrial communication and control modules).
These three executives join the Active-Semi leadership team at corporate headquarters in Allen, Texas to continue preparing and positioning the company for the next stage of growth.
Mark Cieri joined Active-Semi from power technology innovator Enpirion, recently acquired by Altera Corporation. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, he brings more than 20 years of diverse electronics and semiconductor industry experience. Mr. Cieri has an established track record for building industry leading, multi-national businesses in the global networking, industrial, embedded, consumer and enterprise markets.
Winston Fu joined Active-Semi as Chief Financial Officer after more than two decades of building technology company successes. Dr. Fu recently left U.S. Venture Partners (USVP) after 16 years, to return to an operating role and dedicate his wealth of experience to Active-Semi. Dr. Fu served on the boards of numerous high-growth companies, including, Box, Brion Technologies (acquired by ASML), Clear Shape (acquired by Cadence), and New Focus (NUFO).
Wayne Chen joined as Executive Vice President of R&D and Global Operations. Mr. Chen, formerly of Texas Instruments, held the prestigious title of Fellow and brings 25+ years of world-class mixed signal and power design and world-class global operations capability to Active-Semi. Mr. Chen has over 25 patents issued and over 30 pending in the areas of semiconductor devices, ESD structures, circuits and systems.
