Meeting tomorrow's power requirements with discrete N/P channel and depletion-mode MOSFETS

News

Keeping the pace with the market requires manufacturers of PowerTools such as cordless screwdrivers, percussion drills, demolition hammers and hedge trimmers to constantly optimize their products. In addition to the corresponding increase in performance, a reduction in weight and size of the devices is also expected. These requirements lead to a significant increase in power density. At the same time, the desire for quiet products has increasingly gained acceptance in the industry.

In the future, mobile high-performance tools such as chain saws will be electrified and powered by batteries. To avoid constant recharging or frequent battery changes, however, the efficiency of the drive and electronics must be particularly high. A consequence of these trends is the change from brushed DC motors to brushless drives. The targeted selection of the right electronic components, in particular the power MOSFETs, is therefore decisive in terms of improvement and efficiency increase. For this reason, Finepower has entered into a sales partnership with the innovative semiconductor manufacturer MaxPower Semiconductor. This cooperation ensures a perfect and targeted response to customer wishes and requirements of individual projects and to supply components, for example with adapted gate threshold voltages.

The product range includes discrete semiconductors such as low and high voltage MOSFETS and IGBTs. According to FinePower, adjustments to existing products or new developments are possible at any time in collaboration with Maxpower. Internationally recognized development experts paired with decades of experience in the field of power semiconductors thus guarantee flexible, easily adaptable processes and technologies in order to quickly react to customer-specific requirements.
